Cash Choice Vehicle Title Loans

What is a Title Loan?

A Cash Choice Title Loan is a quick and convenient way for someone, who owns their car or truck without any liens, to get cash using their vehicle as collateral. It allows consumers to use this asset to solve short-term cash flow problems without having to sell their car or truck. Without title lending, some consumers could be forced to sell their vehicle in a time of need.

Can I get a loan with a motorcycle or a boat?

At this time Cash Choice only offers title loans for cars and trucks. We do not offer loans against any other type of vehicle.

Can I get a title loan online?

Since we need to physically appraise the vehicle and retain the original title, it isn't feasible to offer title loans online - we can only offer a title loan at one of our retail locations. However, you are welcome to apply for one of our payday loans, which are available online.

Can I get a title loan in a state where you don't have a store?

Due to the nature of a vehicle title loan, we would need to appraise the vehicle and retain the title. Because of that we need you to bring either the car or truck in question to one of our existing locations in order to offer you a title loan.

How does a Cash Choice Title Loan work?

  • Take your car or truck and lien-free title (meaning that you don't owe any money on the vehicle) to a Cash Choice location.
  • Be sure to bring a State-issued ID or Driver's License, your most recent pay stub, and a second set of keys.
  • Cash Choice will appraise your vehicle to determine its value.
  • Based on the appraisal of your vehicle and your ability to repay, Cash Choice will determine how much cash we can advance.
  • If you agree to the loan terms, then Cash Choice will hold your title and your second set of keys until the loan is repaid in full.
  • You continue to keep and use your vehicle while you also get the cash you need.
  • After the loan is paid in full, we return the keys and title to you, except in the state of Wisconsin, where the state will issue you a new title after the loan is reported as being paid in full.

Can I make payments on my loan?

This is a single payment loan, but we do offer you the option to rollover your loan for an interest payment and you will then be granted an additional 30 days to repay the loan balance. Some states require a principal reduction payment along with the rollover fee. Check with your Cash Choice retail staff for the requirements and fees in your specific state.

Can I make a payment with a credit card or a personal check?

No. Cash Choice can only accept cash or a certified check for title payments.

If I am late with a payment, will you repossess my car?

This policy varies from state to state. Please discuss this with your Cash Choice center manager.

What if I want to sell my car before the loan is paid in full?

Since we are a lien holder on the vehicle, we would need to grant approval of any sale. We will require that the loan is paid in full in order to release our lien.

What if I have bad credit?

Cash Choice is ideal for people with bad credit. In fact, your credit history is not a factor in the title transaction approval process.

What is required to be approved for a title transaction?

To be approved for a title transaction you must be at least 18 years of age (19 years old in Alabama) and you must have the following with you:

  • Your car or your truck.
  • Title to your vehicle with no outstanding liens (meaning it has been paid in full).
  • Proof of a source of income (excluding Alabama), such as your most recent pay stub.
  • Proof of residence, such as a copy of a current utility bill.
  • A government-issued picture I.D.
  • A second set of keys to the vehicle.

You do not need good credit. Cash Choice does not check your credit or use your credit history in any way in the approval process. However, if you've declared bankruptcy, or have filed multiple times, we would not be able to offer you a loan.

Your loan approval will be subject to vehicle inspection and appraisal. Your second set of keys and your title will be returned once you repay the loan in full. In Wisconsin, the state will issue you a new title once the loan has been repaid.

Does the car title have to be in my name?

Yes. The car title must have you listed as the legal owner of the vehicle you intend to use as collateral for the transaction. If you are listed on the title along with another person then you should contact the location nearest you to determine whether or not the other person listed on the title has to apply for the title loan along with you.

How do I know if I will be approved for cash?

Since we will need to appraise the vehicle and retain the title, the best way to know if you will be approved to get cash is to bring these and the other required items listed above to a Cash Choice location and complete a customer application. Cash Choice will evaluate your vehicle and application and let you know in about 15 minutes whether you are approved and how much cash is available to you. Due to the nature of these loans, we cannot take title loan applications online.

How much cash can I get?

Loan amounts range from $300 up to $3,500 ($2,500 maximum in Tennessee). The amount available is based on the vehicle appraisal and your ability to repay.

How "new" does my car or truck have to be?

The age of the vehicle isn't nearly as relevant as the value of the vehicle.

How long does it take for me to get cash?

Assuming that you have all of the items required to complete a transaction with you when you come into a Cash Choice location, the whole process from application to cash in your pocket should take about 30 minutes.

How do I get my title and keys back?

Your title and keys will be returned to you immediately after paying back the full amount due on your account, except in Wisconsin where the state will issue you a new title.

Why should I borrow money with a vehicle title?

The process is based on collateral not credit - so if you've had credit issues in the past, you can still borrow money. A title transaction enables you to acquire cash based on the value of your car but without actually losing its use. This is important if you rely on your car or truck to earn your income, and don't want to sell the vehicle.

What transaction rate should I expect to pay - how much will it cost?

Rates and terms vary from state to state, so we encourage you to contact your nearest Cash Choice location so that they can tell you the specifics related to your area.

What if I cannot payoff my account balance?

Since you keep your car, you will always have the right to sell your vehicle to another party then use those proceeds pay off your account. Once you do, you can claim the title so that you can pass it on to the buyer. Any excess proceeds after paying off the loan would be yours to keep.

What if I am late with a payment?

If you are seriously late or non-responsive, vehicle repossession could occur. However, Cash Choice considers repossession a last resort.
